The White House pushes at the Rebrand Pentagon, confirming Saturday, it plans to rename the Defense Department of the War Department, first in Wall Street Journal export.
The War Department was established by Congress in August 1789. to monitor the work and maintenance of military branches. After a shorter name, changes to the national military after the Second World War, it was changed to Defense Department.
