Today’s mane # 1530 hints and response to Wednesday, 27. August

Wednesday is Wednesday, which means only one thing and only one thing: We have an additional challenge that is ahead. Every Wednesday, I give you a lot of extra puzzles, a brain-teaser or logical puzzle to solve. I like to mix things! Variety and all that jazz. Then I give you an answer on Thursday. Here are today:

An ancient alchemist once tried to test his most promising scientist. One evening he set up two strange ropes on the table in his September lighted workshop.

“These ropes,” the alchemist explained, “if it shines or fell from any end, it will completely burn it at exactly one hour.” He whispered crazy, holding one of the ropes, and then became thick, and then becomes fat, then thick. “They don’t burn evenly.”

The alchemist leaned closer, lowering his voice. “Now my challenge is to you: With only these two ropes and flames, show me how you could measure exactly forty-five minutes.”

He stepped back, weapons bent, waiting for the trainee solution.

Can you solve the puzzle? If you do, shoot me a message. I will publish the answer in tomorrow’s guide.

Now solve this mane!

How to play bite

Wordle is a daily word of a puzzle where your goal is to hit a hidden five-letter word in six attempts or less. After each convenience, the game gives feedback to help you get closer to the answer:

  • Greenery: The letter is in the word and in the correct place.
  • Yellow: The letter is in the word, but in the wrong place.
  • Gray: The letter is not in the word at all.

Use these clues to narrow your guesses. Every day brings a new word and everyone around the world trying to solve the same puzzle. Some words also play competitive snacks against friends, family, a mane bot or even against me, your modest narrative. See the rules for competitive snacks towards the end of this post.

Today’s bite and reply

Gorna analysis

I check the Gorni Bot every day to help analyze the game guess. You can check your Gordle score with Wordle Bot here.

As so often when I play the pool, this was a bad break. An unfortunate holiday. 252 words remained after my opener. A store that decreased to just 6. I almost went with slow, but we only had that as a purulent solution. I could think about a few, but I really didn’t have a clue that could be so I went with the word I liked the most: tower. I am a vacuum cleaner for the tower. Dark towers, curve towers wizards, tower with secludes. Rapunzel’s Tower. That did the trick!

Competitive Gordlo Rating

I get 1 point for guessing in three and another point for beating the bot. The bot gets 0 for guessing in four and -1 for the loss of me. I finally transfer lead in August, although many days left to be against me:

Erik: 16 points

Wordle Bot: 14 points

Today’s Gorn Etymology

Tower comes from Latin turis (“Tower, Citadel”), which moved to the old French tour and then middle English Tour (s) Before you become tower. It originally referred to natural high places (a cragged or hill) and defensive human structures, ultimately narrowing English that primarily means high, established or exalted buildings.
