In His event “a terrible fall” Tuesday, Apple bounced covered its most recent iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Maxwho pack the entire multitude of updates including a Divisive new orange color. But as a professional photographer, it’s a camera, I’m especially excited, and the new Pro models are commended by a multitude of updates that tech nerd in me shudder with excitement like wants on the railway board. Let’s dive inside and find out more.
Longer telephoto zoom
First, telephoto zoom. While 16 Pro It offered 5K optical zoom, 17 pro needed it to 8K – equivalent to an increase on the robe of 200 mm lens to a regular camera. I like to use a long lens with My Canon R5. It allows me to find more interesting compositions on the scene that would be lost if I just stood there with a wide angle. And while the 5K was a good sweet place for many scenes, I often wanted it to be an extra reach for more remote items, but I didn’t want to sacrifice image quality only digital zooming.
Now the Program Pro model offers a bag full of camera, leaving Ultravide at one end to super zoom. The sensor for telephoto lens now has 48 megapixels resolution and is physically larger than the previous model. This is great – the larger sensor writes more light and more light means better looking images. I’m really excited to see that this larger sensor could allow natural phones for natural appearance without a difficult tour seen on many rival zoom systems.

I would honestly like to see a larger sensor and on the main camera. I wanted to see Apple big with 1 inch sensor, like those found on Xiaomi 14 Ultra and 15 Ultrathat can deliver a stunning quality. It doesn’t seem to have changed the hardware of the main cameras that is much this time around and I guess it’s okay. After all, it was already among the best phone cameras, so why a mess too much with good things?
As a professional photographer, I used my usual cameras on my usual camera when I didn’t expect me to need a camera. I even posted iPhone pictures in magazines. Do I need an apple to drain my main camera? No. Would I like it to see that Slapping on the image sensor with a full frame with replaceable lenses? Oh, hellish. It has an “second-generation” of optical stabilization sensor sensor that should help images with low light, while the ultravoid camera remains healthy 48 megapixels.

As well as a photographer, I saw the producer, creating a video for CNET and the YouTube Videos products For my photo channel. I often work on the location and creating videos that show me paint, which means it wears a lot of equipment – I need a camera to take a picture and I need a camera to film me to take those photos.
Last year I shot a particularly cinematic video in Velsa Mountains (built-in below) and I had to extract a huge amount of gears on my back, including two cameras, two-camera monitors, lenses and filters. That’s why I’m excited about the second great upgrade of Apple on the cameras: Preses RAV video.

While iPhone may not deliver the same quality as a huge cinema camera and skin cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, iPhones tiny size means that it can be used in small spaces and for quick timers in which larger cameras will increase.
Of course, my little youtube channel is not exactly a Hollywood product, but I enjoy any opportunity to bend my creative muscles and try to create a video that is a little more cinematographic. And with the updates on the IPHONE 17 PRO camera, I will be much better equipped to create better videos without wearing the amounts of spine equipment.
