Carlo Chartian Will chair over the international jury of competition at this year’s Tokyo International Film Festival.
The Italian Film Executive Director previously announced two most prominent festivals in Europe, directing Locarno since 2013-2018 and Berlin from 2020-2024.
Chatrian’s Berlin’s mandate is marked with significant policy changes, especially by eliminating gender-based gender-based prizes. This move affected similar reforms at other international festivals and founded Berlin’s reputation for progressive practices of industry.
He maintained strong connections with a Japanese cinema through various programming initiatives and multiple visit to the Tokyo for the Festival. Its wallpaper includes extensive work as a film critic and academic, with published works on documentary film films and the Italian cinema.

Current directing of the National Torina Museum, Chatrian maintains membership in the Picture and Italian Film Academy. His journalistic career includes work for LA stampa and various film publications.
