The controversial ex-tar means about Cooper Flagg

Take his comments on the former Duke Star and Hotshot Dallas Mavericks Rookie Cooper Flagg. Here’s what McCants had to say about Flagg and young NBA players in general:

“I’m not very big on the freshmen, because they are underdeveloped. They are so understood … Flagg does not have to work for its position. I think Kobe Briana had to sit on his chief coach that was full or second year old boy.

“Yet, When you come in an expectation, there’s going to be disappointments. You can exceed Those expectations, or you cannot. That puts more pressure on young kids to just come in and not have any restrictions or road blocks.”

It is partially right, because the league must have changed extremely extremely. Players now arrive as quickly as possible and team factor is a youth factor than you used to be, including much more liberal use of the G-league, which was not available during the Brighten Rookie season.

Also, consider who Lakers had in Kobe’s Rookie Seasons:

Rookie Briant had to beat five quality guards in the team who won 56 games.

Now look at Maverike and which flags with a log in minutes:

We did not list Kirie Irving because it was out with the injury and will be a while. Even so, except Davis, lively, Washington and possibly Thompson, who is on that list, in the team that has just finished, who is better than Flagg right now?

McCants has a base point and is wrong. The league has changed.

There is another point that should be mentioned and that is maturity. While Briant came out like a huge talent, he was a very difficult moment for the first few years in the league. Briant did not get along well with his teammates and had no idea how to connect with them. You can look at the stories for yourself, but it’s enough to say that for a while ago for a while before it came.

We do not say Cooper Flagg will not fight competitive or emotionally. It will certainly be struggling to adjust the league. Almost every novice. And we remember the story of Kevin Garnetta sitting in the hotel rooms only while his senior teammates went to bars and strip clubs in which he could not lie legally. It’s not easy to be a teenager on the road to the NBA. There are video games, but still, hotel rooms become quite bored pretty quickly.

And we certainly don’t say Flagg will be better than Briant. He is strikingly mature talent although he defeated most aspects of the game between the age of 18 and is in a very different situation than Brianant.

He will not start because he is a valued potential talent, even though he is. It will start because Mavericks needs help and he is a player on the list most likely to provide.

Unlike the Lake, Maverike can’t afford to wait.
