Italian foundation PradaMonday in Venice Film FestivalIt officially launched its film fund to maintain independent cinemas from around the world without any restrictions on topics, genre or language.
As previously announced, the fund starts with 1.5 million euros (1.6 million dollars) pots and will support 10-12 selected feature films per year, including documents and animation.
The idea is “to compose a very diverse choice and give priority to projects that pushes the boundaries, former CANNES directors, which is directors in Cannes directors who manage the Fund in Cooperation with the Rebecca De Dog film developer.
Fondazion Prada Film Fund – Invitation for which is opened in September – 17. October – offers three types of support: development, production and post office. The maximum amount of funding a project can get € 250,000 (292,000 dollars) according to production.
“It’s not a lot of money, but it’s the beginning, it’s the beginning of something,” Moretti said. “We enter unpurbed territory, opening up to so many countries and types of films. I think we will learn from this first experience and see what happens,” he added.
“We hope to launch a new financial dynamic around the film,” he went to Moretti to point out. “It’s about money, but we hope not only (yes). It will be very courier, like a festival. We hope to attract further attention to help you close the movie budget.”
Fundazion Prada Film Fund also presented the names of consultants with high calibrations that recruited who would be crucial in the decision-making process. They are an Argentine programmer and producer of Violeta Bava; Paolo Bertolin, which is the film curator and artistic director of the New Zealand of the International Film Festival; Emilie Bujes, artistic director of the French Festival Vision Du Reel; Michelle Carei, a consultant for international festivals and former director of the Melbourne International Film Festival; Deepti D’Cunha, programmer and former artistic director Mami Mumbai Film Festival; Claire Diao, critic and developer, founder of distribution distribution Court Connexion; Sergio Fant, selector and curator for European festivals; Evgeni Gusiatinskii, programmer and critic; Daniela Persico, programmer, critic and director of the Bellaria Film Festival; Venice Fest programmer Alessandra Special; and a manufacturer in Portuguese language Yaoting Zhang.
Unlike Prada supported Miu Miu Miu Sirije Shorts, which is an integral component of the Venetian Day Department in Venice and functions, functions all inspired by clothing Miu Miu, Prada Fund’s projects will not have connections.
