Continuing for a great year for Arabian cinema at the main festivals – with movies as “once a long time ago” “of the president” and “small sisters” conquers great prizes in Cannes – Venice Film Festival has been packed on a storage with a talent from the region. The headlines include twice nominated Kaoutr Louther Ben Han in the “Helle Rajab” Voice “Hijra” in Venice in Venice, and Suzannah Mirgan’s “Cotton Queen” and Yanis Koussimov “Rokia”.
Egyptian producer and distributor Mohamed Hefzi’s film clinic arrives on Lido as a producer for behind “Hijra” and “Cotton Queen” and the distributor behind “Rokia”. Speaking with a variety, Hefzi reminds himself “Cotton Queen” – the film film film of the female director by the Sudanese director – in the Civil War in Sudan, in an increasing move as conflicts escalate in the region.
“We need to live with instability,” Hefzi exhales. “It doesn’t seem to disappear soon. I hope that things are not happening, movie cats must talk. It is great that the families of the Arab world. It is no coincidence of the Arab world. It is not the coincidence of the Arab world.
Amen, whose long-term debut, “Libra” played Venice, says that it is delighted to return to Lido with “Hijra”, which he says as a showcase of her gender Saudi Arabia. The drama, the way between Grandma and grandchildren, was shot in eight different Saudi cities in ambitious production.
“I spent three years by traveling with my producers, went from the south to Jordah to the limits of Jordan while I wrote a script,” he remembers remembering. “If I encountered an interesting location or person, I would do part of the story. I would like the film to be a journey trip through the kingdom, so the audience could come with us.”
One of the most obvious Arab titles of the Jeseni Festival, the historical epic epic “Palestine 36”, will take its first bow in Toronto. They asked about the difficult presence of women’s Arab movies this year, director says that “I always are interesting that people are surprised by a large number of women’s director in the Arab world.”
“It is well documented that playing in the film industry in the Arab world, and women have been adding for a long time, and she adds, asking why focus was not before Venice used to program the film of Palestinian women.
Jacir also defies the observed term of Arabic films in Major of the Western Festival, “I think it is now, to have more Arabic films than ever, making real festivals” “” “”. “
However, amine remains hoping, stating Saudi Arabia as an example of a desire to tell uninterrupted stories with healthy financing and ecosystem for talent development.
“Six years ago, the two films came out of Saudi language in the year. Now, with government support, we have so much,” she says. “Arabs wear stories about our grandparents; we are tellers. I’m so happy that our films travel abroad and let the international community see who we really are.”
