Earlier this year, Coco Gauff captured another Grand Slam title of his tennis career when she won French open. But at the tournaments who followed, the 21-year-old was constantly fighting with the service and fought with him on the field. Gauff gave the service that he broke four times and registered seven double mistakes in the first set. However, it managed to find calm in the second set while it became zero service breaks and only one double criminal error.
Gauff was not the only one who struggled with the double mistakes Thursday. Vekić also recorded 10 of its double mistakes in the loss.
With the victory on Thursday, Gauff moves on face no. 28 Magdalena Frech, who defeated American Peiton Stearns (6-7 (6), 6-3, 6-2) to cross to the third round.
