The Walking Dead: Daril Dixon

During the previous two seasons of the dead: Daril Dixon, I often mentioned how strange that so many people in France (where the series began) dress like people from a different era completely. This reducing direction was significantly accelerated in season 3, when Daril (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) were found on the beach in Spain, and later traveling to a wonderful village of Hilltop. Similar spoilers.
Here, people everyone leaves like they descended from the Zorro or three amigos.

It seems to be much more like a city in Mexico about 1800s than in the city in Spain at the end of the 2020s (or later, I am not entirely sure in which the year now takes place entirely. You can claim that people now have to make their clothes, so it reflects more “old” “feeling”, but it’s more than a little absurd. It would be a lot of clothes still before it was an apocalypse. If nothing else, most styles need to reflect Hodge-Podga before 2010. year that is patched.
Nevertheless, fashion in Spain at the end of the 1800s was radically different from fashion in Mexico, and it looks much more like Mexico.
In this village, people have a custom called La Inartenda. It runs pigs that are the names of young women sewn in their collars. The girl with a winning pig is sent as an offer to King Spain, which is pretty rough honor in return for protection and unity. When Carol calls this custom – after the inhabitants chewed him shelter and medical assistance – the old Abueda lowered her nose to her where she didn’t belong. Carol is right, of course. Custom is barbaric. But Abuela is also right: Carol is far too fast to judge. This is a woman who participated in the destruction and down countless communities. Almost every single community of survivors came in contact with mass died, because their settlements fall for failure. I’m almost entirely sure that a similar destiny awaits our new Spanish NPCs.
La Ofenda is actually a Mexican tradition that has nothing to do with the necessary gives as a honor to harass kings. It is actually the offer of the dead as part of the Dia de Los Muertos Diamen, greet the spirits of the late ancestors back to the land of life. Obviously, writers walking dead just borrowed this custom to set up in this Spanish and did Spanish everyone, because hey, one Latinoline or other, what is the difference?
It is clear where all this is on the forehead. Seven Samurai, a classic film from 1954. Director Akira Kurosava, is a lot of imitators. One of the most famous was magnificent seven. The best parody of that movie was three amigos. All of these films have a common plot: the village pushes the relentless local war warrior and courageous heroes come to their defense. In the majestic seven, it takes place in a small Mexican village. A group of American weapons are engaged to protect them (and discover women in the village all hidden to protect them from rape by bandit).
In three amigos, the trio of American actors who played heroic stregal in a series of popular quiet films, accidentally engaged by Santa’s villagers to protect them from the elbow bandit leader, El Guapo, who was awe beautifully beautiful villagers.
You can see where I’m going with this. Daril and Carol are an American rescue to help poor villagers Santa Poco, Spain, a Mexican village from the 19th century that fell into the Spanish hill. It is very spaghetti Western and I understand that they go because of this look and feel and the vibe, but attacks me as incredibly stupid.
On the other hand, I thought they had beautiful shots of Spain. The village is recorded in Sepulveda, north of Madrid. Reminded me of the northwestern Basilica de Montserrat from Barcelona, a beautiful cathedral in the mountains you reach over the gondola.
I also enjoy music in this series and really the production value is quite good. Even goofy Mexican costumes are well made and pleasant to watch.
Daril was a pleasant and this episode, he had his best to save Carol – first of her injuries, and then from her big mouth. When one of the bandits saved Romeo and Juliet, he previously appeared in the village and recognizes Daril, the hunter, and that Daryl was rapid work of Bandit and his allies in a fun combat. It is easily the best part of the episode.
But beautiful cinematography and costumes and a flameless-wiret result cannot save this show alone. Carol remains dead weight here; The show was far away, it’s far worse than your return. I would prefer the version of the events where Daryl, Isabelle (Clemence Puech Scigliuzi, also escaped and made his way to London, where they had joined their adventure party, but they were sailing, but in Spain are shipwrecks, They also survived to the next adventure in Nos Mexico together. Even better, they could also keep the new season of survivors. Mose-capable… Daril and Carol awkwardly crashed entertainment everywhere they go.
Seasons 1 and 2 are basically a “mysterious side hero appears and must have chosen to choose to a safe place” (similarities on the last of us were pretty) and now the season 3 are three amigos, it is short weekly. At least we get original stories!
