When they first used me, the job was already familiar and Lisa performed all thematic songs until that moment, so there were some pressure. It’s a song that changed my concerts. In the early days of my career, there were a lot of ballads in my repertoire, and the audience was mostly sitting on my shows. I focused on making songs that reflected my inner world. But how I gained more experience, I started to understand how important execution is live and I went to the elevation last year.

How did you feel when you asked you to work with Kimets Re-franchise, to sing “the world in which the sun never rises” for the latest version of the film?

When I first heard of it, I was surprised completely surprised than happy than happy, to be honest. When I first heard the demo, I thought it was hard and that was, “How should I sing this?” To be honest. I thought it was a really interesting song, but also wondered how it would be a proper way to sing.

As you say, it feels like the real power of this song cannot be pulled out by simply monitoring the melody. It’s like your vocals are so integrated with music that the song is only complete with it.

When looking for a composer to write a song for me, let them know my vocal range in advance. Most composers will then create melodies within that range with some free space, but Mr. Shiina used the entire scope, pushing it on the absolute limit. After filming it, he said, “I really like your low notes, so I wanted to turn them on and I also wanted to hear your high falsetto, which makes me listen to such melodies.” The choir is my highest key, so I couldn’t sing him in a natural voice and I had to use Faletto, and the first verse (A-Melo) was in my lowest register. I rarely use long vibrato or falsetto with classic, intense sound, so I realized that the song fell so awesome because it intentionally aimed to “take full use of Aimer’s voice.” Since the song is made to highlight my voice, it is easier to add dynamics.

I see. Since this song is full of your boundaries, after you do not settle down into your body, you can effectively show your vocals.

I think Mr. Shiina took into account my vocal range and carefully adjusted every detail to fit this song into a movie. When I sing long notes, I prone to eventually leave some breath and I was happy when it obviously left that part in the mix, so it could be heard in the close range. He reminded me of how much attention was paid to even the smallest detail.

Now I see that “the world where the sun never rises” became a song that enriches the film Infiniti Castle, because it is the result of a ruthless search for perfection.

They talked about “Emotion of Demon Slaier Corpus and the situation that decisive battle begins” and it will want to “give meaning to the involvement of the theme (at that particular moment in the film).” I think the Infiniti Castle ARC conveys basic values Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba In direct, expressed way, so I wanted to express those values ​​through the song. Is there a significant difference between singing own texts and singing someone else’s?

When textors write someone else, it feels like I can intuitively interpret the words, allowing me to focus on the expression of song to sound and resonance words. When I write my texts, I understand the intention of every word, for better or worse, and sometimes my ego is in the way. I felt like I became part of the film through “the world where the sun never rises”, which was a refreshing experience. The first time he sang a song that has such a perspective, so it was very interesting and exciting for me.

From what you said, “The world where the sun never raises” feels like it is a song with a strong sense “setting fighting”. Personally, would you say you live with a combat spirit?

I want to be calm, but I’m a kind of person with intense emotional ups and downs, so I’d say yes. That is why it was constantly moving me depth of the story of every character in Kimetsu No Yaiba. The story contains powerful demons, and even demons have motivation to become stronger. You seem to be consistently focused on the compatibility between sound and your vocals from your debut. Where does that come from?

I have always loved songs in which vocals are removed in music right and exist in music without sounding unnatural. The reason I started singing was because I wanted to be able to produce such songs and vocals. It could sound supposed to say that I want to use my voice as an instrument, but I always wanted to express such things through the song.

I think your songs resonate listeners outside of Japan, because they can intuitively get what you sing even without tracking texts.

I’m glad to hear that. I always hope that thoughts behind the song and my own emotions can be transferred through sound and tone, even if there is a language barrier. During my foreign tours, seeing everyone becoming so excited in big places made me understand that every song from the animation project was involved in reaching people in distant places and it was very moving. He also reminded me that the music exceeds cultural and language differences. When I sing live, these emotions are only naturally well entered and turned into a song. That’s why I like to perform live and I want to proactively proactively do my lives around the world.

We managed to catch the best search because everyone was present in recording. The sound and my voice mixed up better than I could imagine, so I feel confident in that and I would like to get out of this experience in the future.

The idea of ​​having to be strong to protect what you hold dear coming over Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba is both personal and universal. Anniversary of my debia, and I hope that I will express those feelings through my music at that time.

Perhaps the reason why you became stronger because you have more things you want to protect.

I’m not a strong person, but why I managed to come this far for my fans listening to my music. 15 years from now, 20 years from now on, I’ll probably continue to make music with the desire to become stronger, so I can protect people or things that matter to me.
