What is the new women’s Champions League Format?

Let’s start with the basics. According to old format, 16 teams competed in four groups of four teams, and the top two passes to quarterfinals – and then to semifinals and finals.

This season sees a women’s league of champions trust similar format to remodeled a male competition (which has 36 teams) – from all 18 teams in a large league table. This means that two additional teams will be in competition.

Nine teams automatically qualified with the best seven nations:

Owners owners: Arsenal
France: Ol Lionnes, Paris Saint-Germain
Germany: Bayern Munich, VFL Wolfsburg
Spain: Barcelona
England: Chelsea
Portugal: Benfica
Italy: Juventus

The final nine places are filled through qualifying rounds, with teams that lose the fall to the new Cup of the UEFA (more about it later).

The final qualification line of Playoff Ties:

Valerenga vs. Ferencevaros
Vorskla Poltava vs. Oh leven
St. Polten vs. Fortuna Hjørring
Katowice vs. Twente
BK Hacten vs. Atletico Madrid
Paris FC vs. Austria Vienna
Brann vs. Manchester United
Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Real Madrid
As Roma vs. Sporting CP

So, how does it work?

• Teams in positions 13 to 18 are eliminated at the end of the league phase in December.
• Eight teams at 5 to 12 plays in the playoffs in Nockout, in February, to earn a place in the quarterfinal.
• The claim of four go through quarterfinals, played in March and April.

From the play phases of Knockouts onwards, the competition has a two-legged form to the semifinals, with a traditional one-legged final, but with limited drawings.

How does the phase league phase feed in the nockout carrier?

The new format gives the importance of putting the league with teams paired. The higher you finish, the more favorable, including the jump directly to the quarterfinals for a quarter.

There is only one draw for the women’s tournament, 18. December, which sets the entire path of the carrier. There is no protection from the country, which means that teams from the same league can face each other in the entire nockings.

Here’s how it works.

For the playoffs from Knockout phases, the draw will create four connections from:

11 or 12 vs. 5 or 6 (two connections)
9 or 10 vs. 7 or 8 (two connections)

The draw will set four connections that are created in a position in the carrier, in a silver or blue half.

Then paired teams in positions 1 and 2, and 3 and 4 will be retracted into one of two possible positions, again to create fastenings.

For quarterfinals, the draw will be:

Tie winners involving 7, 8, 9 and 10 will play 1 or 2 (two connections)
Tie winners involving 5, 6, 11 and 12 will play 3 or 4 (two connections)

The whole bracket is now set.

The teams ending in positions 1-4 will be at home in the second leg of the quarterfinals.

Semifinal connections are already placed by the gorse of the carrier. In principle, teams ranked 1 and 2 plays semifinal second legs at home. However, if 1 and / or 2 are ejected into quarterfinals, the home right will move to the team who eliminated them. For example, if Arsenal (first) knocked down Paris FC (Ninth), it is a Paris FC that will have the advantage of home in the last four.

So, it is not based on placing the league – and this means it is impossible for teams to end in the third and fourth to get a home semifinal second leg, because they cannot first require first or other.

OK, so how does the league phase draw work?

Drawing the phase of the league will be held in 19. September.

Instead of setting teams into groups, it is unresolved to create fastenings. There will be three pots containing six teams – ranked according to the UEFA club coefficient. Each club will play six games, with two opponents drawn from each of three pots. One match from each pot will be home and the other.

These are 18 teams and 18 unique fixed lists.

There are two main principles in the league phase:

• No club can play another team from your own league. (For example, Arsenal cannot play Chelsea.)
• The club cannot play more than two teams from one country. (If Arsenal Draft Lion and Paris Saint-Germain, they can’t play Paris FC.)

The drawing ceremony will also be noticeably different. In previous seasons, the fates of all teams would decide a manual with balls and a pot for teams and groups, a parade of former players. But the new format is so complicated that it should be done in that way.

Here’s how it works now:

• The team will be drawn on stage (starting with pot 1 and ends with the sub 1).
• The computer will randomly select six opponents of this club (in accordance with unresolved limits) and determine which match is played home or further.

The positions of hunting may not be thus crucial, but they still have relevance because each will contain a number of quality. Distribution of home and guest games will also be important given the range of possible opponents for each club.

While the drawing creates a list for fastening, the order they play games will not be published until later.
