Thai Filmmaker Navapol Thamrongrattanarit brings its most well-friendly project so far Venice Film FestivalSection of the horizon with “Human resource“Contemplative drama that deals with the global fallen folk rates through the eyes of the Pregnant Manager Hr.
Variety It exclusively reveals the first shot from the film, followed by Fren (Prapamonton Eamchan), HR expert, which is a month pregnant and wraps in the decision on environmental changes in the next two months. While performing interviews with young employment, their conversations become a mirror for their own internal fighting about bringing a child into an unsafe world.
“Eight years ago, I filmed the film called” Die Tomorrow “, but I’m 41 this time, as the last place to think about Baby, that Thamrongrattanatnarit will tell me that it is the last place to think about Baby” Variety. “So I started researching birth. I saw news about the falling birthdays around the world, and I think it’s proof that a lot of people think about thinking about birth, think about life.”
The director, whose previous loans included Thailand Oscar Brief “Happy Any Old Year” and winning Busan “36”, describes the “human resource” as a return to realism after the conceptual approaches to his earlier films. “I want to watch the everyday life of people in this era,” he explains. “I want to do it as a routine in the movie, simulating my everyday feeling of this era.”
The central movement of the film appeared from their own personal questions Thamrongrattanarit’s parenting, combined with his fascination with HR profession. “I have friends working as human resources managers, and when they have interviews for recruiting, they meet a lot of people. They see and testify a lot of people, insecurity, attitude and hope,”. “This human resource manager has the opportunity to investigate many aspects of people and have a lot of questions when they return home.”
In the film, these work talks become metaphoric conversations with Fren’s unborn child. “The character is a month pregnant in the film, and that is a new person in her body,” explains Thamrongrattanarit. “This boy or girl listen to interviews. But in fact, that interview is the condition of the world – what if you are here in the world? This is how people think, behave, hope or hopeless.”
The director intentionally developed a film to provide an universe of audience for thinking, not to provide simple answers. “I give them fewer stories and more time to think. Every scene is slow, and sometimes signs do not show much expression because this issue is difficult to answer,” he says. “I want to give this duty to the audience to think about it while watching.”
While the subject of the reduction of the folk rates dressed globally, Thamrongrattanarit acknowledged that he has a special weight in Asian cultures. “In Asian culture, I think it’s kind of taboo. For Thailand, sometimes it’s a taboo asking this question about Motherhood or Birth,” he reveals him. “For the Thai audience, I think this movie will open the opportunity for everyone to talk about it.”
The “Human Resource” arrives in Venice during Banner Year for the Thai cinema, the next “useful spirit” that received a higher prize for critics in Cannes.
