Before you can actually play, a few things you need to do. Here are some tips for all set, because the search interface is not always easiest to move.
Set your border. The last thing you want while playing is to find yourself on the object in your room while basically connecting. Your quest will guide you through the process of setting up your border. The room allows you to extract the playback space to move freely, motionless when you stand still. But what if you move locations? Or do you want to play a game that is sitting instead of getting up?
To change the border, press the Oculus button on the right controller (that is the one just below the joystick). This pulls the menu at the bottom of the screen (you must only do this if it does not already appear). From there, if you hover over the clock, you can select a quick setup board. Then select the guard. If you select immovable, you just need to guess confirmation and you are all set. If you choose a room room, it will guide you through the drawing of the new border of the Guardian.
Your search can also support the room mapping, which uses external cameras to find walls and objects in your space and remember them for later. This moves between the room smooth and effortless, as well as enabling advanced XR functions in some games. Information about this feature can be found in the “Environment” tab of your settings.
Buy Games. The Meta Quest Store is the easiest way to buy games for your headphones, but there are three ways to do it. No matter what option you select, you must have a payment method on the file (credit card, debit card or PayPal). The browser method is the easiest way to enter these details.
Note: If the game is free, the blue button will say “get”, not to the price list. And if you buy a game via a browser or app, you will still have to download it on the handset. See the next step for instructions.
Download and access your games. Once you buy a game, you must download it. If you bought it through the store on the handset, the download should start automatically. Once it is done, the button will change in “Play” so you can jump right inside.
If you have purchased a game via a browser or application, head to the store on the handset and search the game. The store will list it as “bought”, but when you click on its info page, the blue button will change from the price list to say “Download”. Press it and automatically show you the download progress bar.
If your headphones are connected or on the charging port, and in standby mode, you can also use the Oculus app to start the download on the device. I’ll use this to pick up the game on my phone, and then ready to go when I put the headphones.
To access all your games – and purchased and downloaded and download the tape with the menu below by hitting the Oculus button on that right controller. From there, click the “Apps” button on the right (one with nine points). This will show you all your purchases and you can filter to see only those that are installed or those that are not. Click the game icon and should be loaded immediately.
Screen screens. You will occasionally find that your screen is no longer centered the way you want it. You may have taken off the handset to check your phone or drink some water or you may be in the game and want to change your orientation. To quickly reset the view, hold the meta key on the right regulator for a few seconds. You will see that a little dialing appears and after filling out, the display will reset to the direction you are currently looking at.
Check the life of the battery. When fully filled, the requested battery usually takes about two hours. If you are unsure of how much the juice is left with your headphones, the Oculus button on the right regulator to set the lower menu. On the left, below the hour, is a small battery icon that gives you a rough measure of your accusation. If you click on it, it brings a speed adjustment screen. In the upper left, there is an accurate percentage, as well as the one of each of your controllers.
