Storm and sparks entered the night of the fight for the last available stain, although the storm had a very clear advantage. Or they had to beat Valkiri to come in, or they could still come in even if the sparks were lost. As sparks survived another triple double trip from Alissa Thomas in Phoenix, the storm held in the last seconds on the climate arena to catch victory and won the place independently.
The storm struggled against Valkiria on Tuesday night and completely left the door open for sparks. But 14-4 races to start the fourth quarter led them immediately, and then Erica Wheeler drilled 16 footers with less than 20 seconds to put a storm for good. Walkeriri – which are the first extension team in their first season – they had a few good views in the last seconds in the game, but Janelle Salaun missed the look and attempt at 3 points before Wheeler broke the final jump.
Literally seconds before that game is over, sparks secured a narrow conquest 88-83 over Mercury. Derica Hambi has dropped 25 points and nine jumps while Rae Burrell added 20 points from the bench, and they held in spite of Thomas’ eighth three-bed double from the season. Thomas had 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for Mercury.
While victory for sparks would not be sealed, at least allowed to control their destiny. On Thursday night, it would set Vin’s scenario in their regular finals against Las Vegas Aces. The ACES, however, picked up its 15. Direct on Tuesday night. The aces rolled over the Chicago Ski 92-61 on Tuesday evening to improve at 29-14 in season. They only lost once in the whole month in August and won 17 their last 18 games. The lone sliding sliding sliding slide came to the premium Samen Minnesota Link.
