Donald Trump said 600,000 Chinese students will be allowed to study at faculties in the middle of trade talks with China.
Speaking in the White House Monday, The president Announcement signals potential thawing in American-China after Escalating tariffs and restrictions on Chinese students.
“I hear so many stories that we will not allow their students,” Trump told reporters.
“We will allow our students to enter. It is very important, 600,000 students. It is very important. But we go along with China,” he added.

Earlier this year, the administration imposed a 145% tariff on all Chinese goods, which requested Beijing to refresh with 125% tariff on American exports.
Negotiators in Geneva agreed in May to pause additional imposition, but Trump continued to warn of further penalties.
Last week, 200% of tariffs were hovering in Chinese magnets, referring to what he described as Beijing “Monopoly” over the global market.

“I don’t think we’re going to have problems with that,” Trump told reporters.
“China, intelligently, she went and somehow took a monopoly on world magnets. We’ll probably need a year to have them,” he said.
Currently, about 270,000 Chinese students are registered in American universities.
