The reaction of the Bulldog side reveals belief and execution after a dramatic finisher
For most night, Mississippi State held control. But after Arizona, the state was punished to take late lead, Stadium Davis Wade Fixed for the heart. Instead, the bulldogs delivered one of their most exciting victories in recent memory.
Three votes appeared in the main coach Jeff Lebby, Quarterback Blake Shapen and Brenen Thompson receiver. Each described that belief and execution was encouraged by a stunning strike of 58 yards sealed upset.
Lebby praised his defense solution before the show: “There is no way to keep them on the field goal in the yard … We have enough time to play because of how we play.”
Shapen explained what he saw Pre-Snap: “There was no safety of the post in the middle of the field, but I guess he was shaking more on the border.” His read opened the band winner.
Thompson, who caught both in shapenov, remembered a moment alive, “Then it just caught and running as fast as I could as the end zone. I could only hear the cows ring so loud.”
Mississippi State now keeps the momentum early in the season, evidence that believes, even in tense moments, can turn impossible into reality.
