With so many smart home news exits from IFA 2025 Conference this weekI imagined this would be the perfect time to collect my homoscreen. I was very curious that someone so involved in a smart home is actually using their phone day – surprisingly, Paulus has set many thinking in his home screen setting.
Side Notes: I originally found these answers from Paulus about his IOS Homoscryn in August, but said this week that since he was transferred to the Google pixel. It says that the setting is largely the same, with a notable change to use multiple web applications.

Phone: I have an iPhone 15 Pro.
Background: The background is a blurry version of my lock background, which is a chart of a domestic assistant. I’ve never loved busy backgrounds because it’s hard to read letters.
Applications: The icons on my homoscre are limited while trying to limit the use on the screen.
- The widget at the top is a smart stack showing the battery, calendar, weather, photos. I had to disable the suggested widgets, because Apple showed me ads for McDonald’s Powered by Ielp and Doordash.
- Home Assistant is on my homoscre because it is the best smart home platform in the world.
- I don’t have social media apps on my phone and I’m just using Blueki and Mastodon over the website. That way, the bad experience is more likely to stop using it.
- I used Kuiche Browser (discovered via Installer!). I configured with several websites I have participated and set up that I can quickly be able to open them quickly (see another screen shot). After the switch on the pixel, I dropped the browser Quicha and installed my favorite web pages as applications on my phone.
- For AI I’m using Claude. I used Chatgpt Before, but today use Claude Max subscriptions to use Claude Cloud for programming, so it switched my personal use and Claude.
- Bow is on my homoscre because iOS app is amazing: it’s not a browser. Instead, it displays all my markers from my desktop. When opening markers on my phone and supports the home application (eg Google Documents), it will actually open that application. Extremely useful as my way to organize a file on different platforms. I also use a bow on the desktop and I already broke the day when the browser company will stop updating.
- Objective I use notes. I recently started using it and it was actually because of the rewecked the pebble watches and the rise of AI. Pebble watches do not work well on iOS due to limited access applications that have third parties. And it made me realize that Apple Notes has the same limitations. I need open systems so I don’t have to wait for my hardware / software manufacturer to cool. So, I switched to the obsidivan, which stores all my notes in folders with Markdown files. The action button is mapped to allow me to quickly write a note without seeing all my other notes. I wrote a small scenario that allows me to add AI instructions inside folders in my notes, and whenever I update the note, it will automatically run Claude code to follow my instructions. For example, my purchase list is automatically categorized and action items are collected on top of my personal notes.
I also asked Paulus to share a few things that is currently in which it is currently currently. Here’s what he said:
- AI! Claude Code is amazing. Being able to do it to the problem while I am at meetings and quickly I give it some feedback between meetings to finish things I would not have time for differently. I also like to use Claude Code with my 7-year-old, pushing my imagination to see what Claude comes to. The other day we made a pong game that would change the color of light over the domestic assistant at every bounce ball.
- Z-wave. We just launched Home Assistant Connect ZVA-2Our downloaded best antenna for this smart home standard. It is huge, over the feet, and all the devices can be reached everywhere.
- Reimbursing friends and family. We live in Brookline, but we spend our flying in Europe, fully exploiting remote work. Spend time in the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary and Denmark.
- Three seasons of Basis It is excellent on Apple TV plus again.
