How did you join KPOP Demon Hunters Project?
Sony Pictures Animation proposed the project to my agency to the Republic of the Republic, and during that process it recommended my agency’s head. It feels like they believed in my career and gave it to me. At first there were many aspects of disadvantaged, which left me a lot of questions. However, since it is animation, I am excited to be able to develop choreography even more.
What was your first impression of song “Gold”?
Most of all, I hit him his size and size. It felt like the scene was resolved in a large place. And above all, I thought the music was really good. The part we needed to create was about 30 seconds, but I felt forced to choreographer more than that. For choreographers, this immersion in the creative process is a really important element. As a result, production time was relatively short, because the music was so good.
In terms of choreography, what aspects emphasized in creation?
Of three members Huntr / X They performed at a big stage, my first concern was how to deliver emotional impact. Therefore, “gold” choreography is designed to express more dramatic and more intuitive than typical K-pop performance. Also, because it was realized through animation, I made the movements larger and more expansive, and I looked at the details like expressing faces and peaks at your fingertips to ensure that they encounter well on the screen.
“Golden” at the end reached no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
I still can’t believe that. I remember can remember the atmosphere in the practice room while I choreographed the “golden” routine. At that time, I just wanted to have fun doing what I wanted to do, and it was amazing that the result was the result of the score of Billbord Br. 1. It feels like evidence that joyfully created work can take place with people.
Among the choreography of 30 seconds in “Gold”, is there a point that you personally feel that you really did well?
I would say an introduction. The usual K-POP formula is that all members are in the same place and start together, but in “golden”, the point is open to Ruma with solo performances. I wanted to point out the main hero of the story. The people around me said that part was unforgettable and I personally agree.
Was it a funny episode during recording to catch movement?
The recording ended faster than I expected. (Laughter) Sony pictures Animation crew asked things and as they went out to grab the casting coffee, movie recording. I tend to be someone who wants to be perfectly prepared, and since I think I’m naturally talented, I push myself to prepare more and work hard.
Around the world, K-pop is more loved than ever. What do you think is the reason for that?
K-pop is music that is great for common experiences. It is not only in singing; Multiple members together perform on stage and fans naturally form one community. The process of many people who are together who have created a common resonance is a major complaint and that is why more people are deeply deep into it.
What did the Features of Koreography K-Pop defined in Mislow?
The choreography must contain several stairs of moments. These days, many moves of signatures can be especially dance challenges. However, I prone to avoid choreography that focuses exclusively on challenges. I think it is important to express music with the body in a way that easily remembers and that everyone can imitate. Instead of making things difficult or expire only to signatime moves, the aim of being a more conscious choreography from music.
Behind the K-Pop, is there an artist of a pop who want you to work with choreography?
Lady GagaDefinitely. After watching the performance of “Abracadabra”, I felt rebuilt, strong resonance with her artist. I would love a choreographer for her, creating a piece that connects theatricality, dynamics and fashion movement. I would draw my phase through various performances, making a choreography that exceeds genres and develops with music, while working closely through practice and live recordings to catch its fearless, multidimensional art skill. Gaga’s ability to overcome genres endlessly inspiring me.
