David Mackenzie He wants you to have a nice time.
Helmer, who brought “relay” in Tiff last year, returned to the festival with the thriller “Fuz“” Distraction of High Teachers Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James. “Fuze” makes its world premiere on September 5 as a gala presentation in Toronto.
A filmmaker, which stands behind the main images like “hell or high water,” “” “” “and series” in the sky “,” says, “this is probably the most ideal to be a little cleaner with fun.”
“Fuze” begins enough directly, with construction workers who discover a unexploded bomb from World War II in the London’s workplace. Police and military bombing, headed by Taylor-Johnson, and while the area was evacuated, the gang of the robber led by James Bushi in the underground vault of a nearby bank. Then they start to be bend, swivel and exciting. Mackenzie notes that kinetic quality, “purity” of action, “I’m interested as a director. We’re kind of harmonized, it’s like a film that made Ramoni, you know it’s at 91 minutes.
In this era of long functions and excessively filled series, the audience can thank him for taking such punk rock access to the material.
“The script was with me for a long time. It comes from my original idea before I had about a year ago, about trying to exercise the type of excitement and tension of a non-pneva’s excitement,” says. “It seems to be unexploded world war II in the construction site every few months. And then there is evacuation, and there is some kind of protocol, and such was a party like it was fun to lean on the back.”
While the Ben Hopkins script passed the base, quick editing action is what really catches “fuze”.
Mackenzie says that Editorial Matt Maier (who have also worked on “relay”) takes a lot of time to invest the recordings, distinguish the story of its essences, so that the film transfers the necessary information, and then moves further. (“I was a bit upset that I didn’t go down for 90 minutes,” Mackenzie admits.) They let the breadcrumbs release the audience, but they are not obvious.
“Every scene in this film is in a way complicated, there are only two or three scenes of dialogue,” he says. “But even they have things, so there’s no way they’re resting, you know, in terms of that process, but that’s part of it.”
