Lenovo is not a foreigner laptops with funky displays. The company made a notebook with a Tri-Fold Screenone with a rolling panel and Multiple systems with Flexible displays. But this year in IFAs, Lenovo tests another new design with its latest concept of laptop, and this time it may have created superior misuse machines.
Its official name is the concept of Thinkbook Vrtiflek and when it is closed, it looks almost exactly like a traditional 14-inch Clamshell. But if you look closer, you will notice that its screen has a secret function: the ability to rotate 90 degrees into portrait mode. This means that you can switch to a higher conversation for tasks such as coding, editing photos and videos or simply browsing your favorite vertically oriented application for social media.
Of course, to improve its portraits options, Lenovo has included support for pairing laptops with your SMART CONNECT APP, which allows you to mirror or extend the double screen on a larger screen or quickly transfer files. In many ways, the concept of the tape feels like a laptop version of one of the last phone phones – LG Wing – Although he also shares a lot of similarities with TVs like rotation Samsung Sero. And given the permanent increase in the popularity of vertical photos and videos about social media, it is actually somehow surprise that it took the mainstream PC manufacturer so long to create such a laptop.
At a practical level, I really appreciate it even with a rotating display, it doesn’t feel like there is a lot of punishment when it comes to added further or thickness. The concept of the tape weighs only three kilograms and measures 0.7 inches thin, which cannot be far from what would get from a typical 14-inch ultraported. And while Lenovo did not provide a lot on the hardware specifications (this is a conceptual device), including two USB-C connectors, one USB Connector, Chely-Congemi HDMI, 3.5 mm audio and microsd card reader.
Now Lenovo showed more concepting devices than practically any other major OEM in recent history, which was not at presentation for IFA 2025. There was a smart concept of movement, but it was just a standalone product. Uses sensors to everything that is connected to monitor the face and automatically reviews the screen of your laptop in the right position.
The concept of Lenovo Smart Motion and the case of its optional gesture control ring.
(I Rutherford for Engadget)
The idea is that if you make a presentation, the pedestal allows your laptop to better hold face in the frame, and at the same time make sure that its MICS and speakers are affected in the optimal direction. Alternatively, if you would rather control the attitude, the device can be paired with a gesture support ring. Finally, Lenovo says the smart motion concept also has some functions to do things like help maintain ergonomically custom positions.
However, as both products are experimental devices, there are no words whether Lenovo will turn them into appropriate retail offers. But if the concept of a vertiflex or smart movement, you may want to say something (perhaps on social media for focused laptop socio-medium) to give Lenovo a little extra encouragement.
