Today’s Nit Pips hints and solutions for Monday, 25. August

The latest game in the NIT apartment is called Pips. Here you can read all about it. Basically, it is a visual puzzle that requires you to fill in a pile of empty squares with the choice of Domin’s. Each square has different conditions and there is only one way to solve each puzzle.

I really enjoy this game, and I thought I’d add it to the rotation of the mane, strand, mini crossed and connections. Let’s dive right!

How to play pips

In PIPS you have a multicolor box network. Any colored area represents a different “state” you need to achieve. You have a number of Domin’s products that you need to spend charging in the network. You must use each domino and to achieve any condition correctly to win. There are easy, medium and heavy layers.

Here is an example of difficulty tier pipes:

As you can see, the network has a bunch of symbols and numbers with each color. On the other hand, three purple squares must not be one of the same equal (hence the equal sign stopped). Two pink squares next to that must be equal to a total of 0. Zig-zeagging blue square must be equal to each other. You can click Dominos to rotate them and they will need to rotate to fit where they belong. Not shown on this network are other conditions, such as “less than” or “more than”. It varies grid. Blank spaces can have anything.

To win, you must use all your domins by filling out all squares, be sure to fit each state.

Today’s Solution for Pips

I will just publish a solution for easy and medium, and then enter a little more detailed and severe depth. Spoiler forward.

Light

Today’s easy pips is a pretty simple but good warm-up for the next two.

Middle

This was a little harder, but still pretty simple.

Tough

Let’s take a walk through Tough Tier puzzle step by step. The best way to start any of them is to make a few quick budgets. You must know the amount of each “PIP”, especially if you have groups that must be equal to each other or individual values that must be achieved.

I am looking for individual boxes that first defined the values. There are two unique boxes that require this puzzle 1 PIP. There are only two dominoes with 1 pip, so we know one of them will have to go to each of these boxes.

In today’s puzzle, there are also Three groups (blue, pink and orange) of four who all must equal equal. Two 1-pip domins have other values of 3 and 5. there are four 3s, but only two 5s. This means that one of 1 PIP Domines must enter one of those three groups, while others cannot. Exist 5 empty domains, Four Domans 3-Pip and Four Dominus 4-Pip In total, so we know that three = groups of four must be: empty, 3 and 4 because only these numbers are sufficient to meet these requirements.

Once you fix this, you can start testing things. 1/3 Domino goes to the upper left boxes. There is also one empty / 3 domino and one 3/4 domino. They can continue filling the pink boxes, spilled over the left in the blue group and down in the orange group. We know that 4 PIP must be in orange based on the green group at the bottom. We will come to it next.

The final boxes that we have not talked about are green that must be equal to 11, so 5-pip and 6-pip must go aside. We don’t have 6/5 Domino, so we know two separate domins must be used. We have it 6/4 Dominoone 5/1 Domino and one 5 / empty domino. Since we have 5 empty Dominos, we will not need everything about filling the blue group. This means we can use 5 / empty domino together with 6/4 Domino to fill the green group and use 5/1 Domino to complete the final one box.

At this point, we have all the hard things out of the way and it is just a matter of installation of the remaining dominoes, as well:

It can be a little mind trying to fix this, but if you always start with the boxes that I have to Have a specific value and do your way out of there, it’s not that hard. Of course, sometimes something wrong replace or need to undo what you set and start, but it’s a challenge that is having fun in the game!
